The Branch Sales Manager is responsible for overall performance and profitability of the assigned branch by managing all sales activities and contributing to the successful operations management for the branch.
Responsible for performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for Branch P&L in coordination with branch Operations Manager.
Develops and implements branch strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals for the branch.
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
Directs sales staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
Directs pipeline development activities and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals.
Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product and services.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships, negotiating rates and closing deals.
Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for branch sales activities.
Responsible for managing delinquent accounts.
In conjunction with the Operations Manager, reviews fleet for underutilized or underperforming assets; relocate or sell fleet as needed and recommend fleet additions through annual CAPEX rollup.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for directing the activities of outside sales representatives and sales support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma, GED, Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
3-5 years’ experience in a transportation related industry (with that experience being in sales preferred) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Attention to detail and highly organized.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
Keyboard at 40 words per minute.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES Valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is required to use an automobile to drive to customer sites, vendors and networking opportunities.
