● Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently
● Experience with political campaigns, union organizing and/or related experience
● Basic computer proficiency in order to perform necessary campaign data management and administrative work along with the ability to learn the organization's technology tools
● Willingness and ability to work long, irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
● Strong personal planning and time management skills
● Ability to demonstrate the Labor Council’s core values in his/her day-to-day work
● Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with co-workers and members
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
● Based in El Central/Imperial County but must be willing to travel to San Diego 1-2 times per week
*Job Description*
The San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council represents over 200,000 working families from over 130 unions across San Diego and Imperial Counties.
The Labor Council is seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the role of Field and Campaign Organizer based in Imperial County.
*Duties Responsibilities:*
● Implement electoral campaign plans for assigned campaigns
● Build, plan, and track community and electoral relationships with direct supervision
● Plan work as assigned; make and execute daily, weekly, and monthly work plans based on assigned goals and objectives
● Assist in developing member leaders through conducting basic trainings
● Planning and carrying out actions and events to support worker organizing efforts
● Complete all required reporting of data, member outreach, etc
● Serve as liaison with local unions
● Travel to San Diego 1-2 times per week for staff meetings and campaign events
● Any other duties as assigned

*Compensation *
The Labor Council offers competitive compensation and benefits as determined by the staff union contract.
The salary for this position is up to $67,000.
Benefits include but are not limited to employer paid medical and pension, phone and car stipend, paid vacation and paid holidays.
