Ballington Academy is a Public Charter School Educating Students from Transitional Kindergarten to Grade Six.

We are seeking a caring individual to help support our Students and Teachers for our Summer Program in El Centro, CA.
Job Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Campus Administrator or Designee, the ASES Instructional Aide/Guitar Instructor will perform support to students for the After School Enrichment Services (ASES) focusing on teaching, supporting teachers & assisting students through the after school program and perform technical duties related to providing instruction as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on, instructional assistance in subject areas.
Facilitate/monitor and assist afternoon snack time prior to class and extra-curricular activities.
Provide a program that provides a safe and healthy environment for all participants and staff.
Ensure that Ballington Academy and ASES policies are followed.
Demonstrate the ability to set and maintain limits for children using positive reinforcement.
Monitor and address student behavior and handle discipline appropriately.
Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
Ensure that classrooms and campus is kept orderly and neat without debris and trash.
Attend a variety of professional development training offered throughout the school year.
Supervise students using positive behavior/classroom management.
Must adhere to all dress code and behavioral policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Credentials and Experience:
Must possess an AA degree.
Must be an experienced guitarist/instructor.
Classroom experience working with children.
Must be computer literate.
Must have excellent command of the English language - oral, written and business writing skills.
Must demonstrate a mastery of higher level (critical) thinking skills and the ability to implement lessons in a small group setting.
Must have knowledge of and ability to use garage band, iMovie, and other digital arts learning platforms as well as other children's centered open source learning sites.
