Description:
The Manager – Environmental, Permitting, and Regulatory Compliance is responsible to implement and oversee processes and procedures that maintain compliance with federal, state, and/or local environmental and regulatory programs and Hudson Ranch/Cyrq Energy policies and procedures through active leadership, acting as a change agent within the company, and providing training to staff at all levels.
Responsibilities:
Program Management
Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert for environmental compliance and permitting with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as other regulatory programs, e.
g.
DOE Energy Information Administration reporting.
Ensure a compliant environmental management system is in place and timely submission of required reports in accordance with local and national regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental incident and accident reporting, investigation and corrective action follow up including near miss, damage and loss control events.
Ensure development and distribution of environmental, permitting and regulatory compliance plans in conjunction with all operational departments on an iterative basis including annual goal setting.
Manage emergency preparedness plans and support line managers in developing and training the key operational personnel in emergency response duties.
Organizational Support
Implement and manage personnel development programs related to environmental and regulatory programs including management and required job-related environmental skills.
Advise senior managers, as needed, to communicate environmental and regulatory related information to promote Hudson Ranch’s positive image or to address any issues.
Provide support and coaching on risk assessment completion to ensure it meets corporate standards.
Provide recommendations in procurement of contractors, equipment and materials utilizing ISNetworld, as needed, or any other applications adopted by Cyrq.
Adheres to, supports, and helps enforce all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
Completes all required safety, process, equipment, or related trainings by deadlines.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related program or equivalent industry experience.
8 or more years of relevant experience which includes 4 or more years of experience at a power generating or processing/refining facility (or similar).
Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) and/or other EHS related certifications preferred.
Possess a thorough understanding of risk management, as relates to environmental and loss control methodology.
Experience in environmental programs, preferably power generation related.
Experience in power plant construction, O&M, and production issues.
Experience in recognition and abatement of environmental hazards in the completion of typical plant site production work.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Ability to complete domestic travel to field and office locations, up to 20%.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) with wide variety of audiences (operators, management, engineering, etc.
).
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
Ability to plan, direct, review and report on personnel and equipment safety conditions.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products.
Ability to move about all areas within the plant site, including elevated areas.
Ability to work in extreme heat/cold with frequent wind-blown dust and high noise conditions.
Occasionally, in the field, the employee could be exposed to hazardous, toxic, or caustic chemicals, as well as loud areas and exposed hot piping.
Ability to appropriately wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to lift 30 pounds
