Position Summary:
Contributes to PMHD mission, vision, and values by reviewing, and serving as an authorized agent for the procurement of various inventory supplies, non-stock supplies; operating independently as well as cooperatively; maintaining professional conduct and effective working relationship with teammates, staff, and clinicians; demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to support patient care and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote process automation and electronic transactions within current MMIS system.
Communicate frequently with materials director and hospital management to monitor needs and address intra-department issues.
Train and mentor staff as needed to maintain department goals and objectives.
Oversee and coordinate department to assure daily activities and tasks are completed.
Accurately and in a timely manner prepares, reviews, edits, places, and tracks stock and non-stock orders.
Expedites all orders, monitors and sources approved substitute alternative items, communicates information to end users in a timely manner.
Create and maintain electronic item master files associated with stocked, items, pricing, and documentation.
Coordinate any order returns
Supports medical supply and equipment recall program.
Generate department reports as needed.
Coordinate receiving, and invoice matching issues.
Monitor and manage potential stock outs.
Maintains an understanding of healthcare market product procurement, suppliers, manufacturers, and product procurement
Assist in bi-annual physical inventory.
Strives for excellent customer service
Supports the value analysis and product conversion process
Enforces established guidelines, protocols, and policies for the requisitioning of supplies
Manages work schedule efficiently to complete tasks and assignments on time; ability to manage multiple complex projects and interaction

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
· Minimum of 4-5 years of hospital purchasing leadership experience desired.
· Computer skills.
· Attention to details.
· Ability to comprehend basic contractual language and concepts.
· High school or equivalent
Valid California driver’s license.
Newborn Infant/Pediatric Adolescent Adult Geriatric All
· Lift 40 lbs.
· Able to operate basic office equipment, PC, printer, fax, and copier.
