Summary: Ref #: M-RECT-7914213 Profession: Allied Health Specialty: Recreational Therapist (RECT) Job Type: Contract Open To Travelers: Yes Facility Type: Correctional Location: Imperial, California Start Date: ASAP Duration: 28 weeks Schedule: Mon-Thu, 8:00 AM-6:30 PM Rate: $2,680/40-hours Requirements: Active Recreational Therapist license issued by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (CBRPC) At least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (with AED) Must be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing) Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Institution's/Facility's CEO/CMH/CMO or their designated representative, the Recreation Therapist's responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, the following: Develop and implement specialized recreation therapy services for Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth.
These therapeutic interventions aim to foster social interaction, encourage beneficial and appropriate use of leisure time, and prepare Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.
