Job Description and Duties

, is responsible for the supervision of two (2) Heavy Equipment Mechanics, and one (1) Automobile Mechanic assigned to the Garage.
He/she will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the institution’s vehicle fleet, including automobiles, heavy equipment, and various mechanical equipment.
Inspects vehicles and equipment submitted for repairs, inspects and tests completed jobs, conducts inspections to ensure conformance with agency maintenance standards, including the DMV Pull Notice Program.
Serves as liaison with Fleet Administration, oversees the procuring of parts and equipment, compiles and completes necessary reports.
Oversees the procuring of parts and equipment for the Garage.
Instructs and trains staff and inmates in the repair and operations of equipment, assists with repairs as necessary.
