JOB SUMMARY
The IT systems Administrator has a lead role in the Equinox Gold US Operations IT team.
This role is under the direct supervision and direction of the IT Superintendent US Operations.
The IT systems Administrator role is responsible for, but not limited to, management, monitoring, project coordination, design, deployment, and operation, of IT/OT infrastructure.
This role is also responsible for project management of infrastructure related projects (server upgrades, networking architecture, etc.
), performing research on new technologies, and making recommendations for implementation.
System Administration
Support the IT team in management, maintenance, and monitoring of hardware, software, and other business-critical systems.
Administer various IT systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, SQL, and Microsoft 365.
Assists with the design, deployment, and operation of enterprise class infrastructure (workstations, applications, server, storage, networks).
Manage VoIP infrastructure.
Ensure outsourced, hosted and/or managed solution providers adhere to agreed performance standards and policies by providing oversight and controls.
Provide suggestions for improvements based on discoveries made with a view to reducing recurring faults or improving the service provision.
Stay informed on new and emerging trends and technologies.
Assists with QA and compliance procedures following SOP and templates.
Contribute to the IT Department’s technical documentation and participate in policy, procedure, and standards development.
Consult with vendors, perform research, and evaluate products to assist in the selection and purchase of equipment and installation or upgrade of systems.
Helpdesk and Operations
Own all aspects of IT Service Management including but not limited to Asset, Incident, Request, Change and Release Management, ensuring IT Helpdesk tickets are addressed within the company Service Level framework.
Assist with the day-to-day delivery of support to the organization.
Assist with coordination, management, and/or direction of IT/OT projects.
Assist with maintenance activities, as assigned, and as needed.
Telecommunications
Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot all communications (local network, point to point radio communications, two-way radios, and mobile)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE
Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree preferred.
Minimum Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with a focus on network and system administration.
Experience in management of storage and data backup systems.
Exposure to Project Management methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).
Familiar with relational database management systems including SQL server, an asset.
IT Certification e.
g.
, MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, CCNA, etc.
an asset.
Previous experience in a mining project environment is an asset.
Skills Required: Strong skills in management of Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Windows, Office Suite, SharePoint, SQL, and Microsoft 365 Solid understanding of cloud computing environments (Microsoft Azure).
Solid Networking skills (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Access Points) Working knowledge of Voice platforms.
Experience on Firewalls and Switches an asset.
Experience with two-way radios and point to point equipment an asset.
Proficient with basic computer commands.
Proficient with hand and power tools.
Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.
Proactive.
Strong work ethic, energetic, goal oriented, detail conscious and methodical in their approach to projects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and e ffectively.

The pay-range for this position is from $75,000 to $125,000 , based on experience & will be expected to work out of both locations, Castle Mountain & Western Mesquite Mine
