Could This Be For You?: The Nearshore Project Manager plays a critical role, initially overseeing the project planning and buildout of our new facility, and eventually transitioning to manage the day-to-day O&P Mexicali fabrication operations.
The ideal candidate will serve as the primary company interface for designing, planning, procuring, scheduling, and establishing production readiness while reporting to the Director, Fabrication.
This position will require cross-functional coordination with various departments, including Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance/Inventory, and the contracted Mexico shelter company and personnel.
The Project Manager will oversee the facility construction and act as an internal fabrication startup project manager and grow into assuming the role of HFN Manager, Fabrication.
Your Impact: Develop a comprehensive project plan, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
Identify, specify, order, and install production equipment.
Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders, to ensure project success.
Manage the project budget, tracking expenses, and making necessary adjustments to ensure cost control.
Create and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust timelines as needed.
Establish production equipment layout in a lean configuration ensuring maximum operational efficiency and employee safety.
Manage ERP/MRP, capacity, lead time, and assembly schedule for assigned products.
Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues that may impact project delivery.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and milestones.
Build strong communications between the site fabrication department and its stakeholders, including customers, clinics, central purchasing, and all departments within Hanger.
Ensure that all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements are met throughout the project and steady state operation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization throughout the project.
Plan and coordinate available resources to achieve production rates, quality standards, and financial objectives.
Recruit, hire, train, and develop department personnel.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that the plant meets all regulatory and safety standards.
Organize daily workflow and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to maximize productivity while maintaining product quality.
Manage ERP/MRP, capacity, lead time, and assembly schedule for assigned products.
Ensure a safe working environment and promote safety awareness among employees.
Perform all other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Spanish/English bilingual proficiency.
8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in Lean Manufacturing environments.
Minimum 3 years of planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
4-year degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Preferred Five years’ orthotics/prosthetics fabrication production experience.
Master Black Belt or Black Belt.
American Board Certified (ABC) registered technician preferred in Orthotics and or Prosthetics.

Proven supervisory or leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and production work simultaneously.

Computer skills, including ERP/MRP implementation (such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle), word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry.
Excellent project management skills.
Ability to create, develop, and maintain positive working relationships.
